Ex-Doctor Faces Shocking Charges for Sexual Assaults on 38 Patients

A former doctor has been charged with several sexual assaults involving 38 patients he treated while working.

Nathaniel Spencer, 38, from Quinton, Birmingham, faces serious charges: 15 counts of sexual assault, 17 counts of assault by penetration, nine counts of sexual assault against a child under 13, three counts of child penetration, and one count of attempting to assault by penetration.

According to The Independent, these charges come after an investigation by Staffordshire Police uncovered offenses that occurred between 2017 and 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley.

Ben Samples, the deputy chief crown prosecutor for the West Midlands CPS, stated, “We have decided to prosecute Nathaniel Spencer for serious sexual offenses against patients while he was a doctor, including assaults on children.”

He added that prosecutors worked closely with Staffordshire Police to review the evidence in this complex case and concluded it was in the public interest to proceed with the trial.

Mr. Spencer is set to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on January 20, 2026.
