The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested eight suspected armed robbers linked to a string of violent crimes in Beitbridge, recovering a firearm, getaway vehicles, and stolen property worth thousands of dollars.
This comes as authorities intensify operations following a series of raids conducted between 19 June and 20 August 2025, aimed at curbing rising criminal activities in the region.
During this period, multiple suspects were apprehended, and significant quantities of illicit goods and firearms were seized, signaling a coordinated effort by law enforcement to restore public safety and maintain order.
In a statement, ZRP national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of:

- Future Moyo (35)
- Decent Moyo (35)
- Obey Chiware (38)
- Wiseman Muleya (30)
- Tendai Mapira (45)
- Khumbulani Mabhena (42)
- Admire Charumbira (36)

“Detectives from CID Beitbridge acted on information received on 21 August 2025, which linked Future Moyo to a robbery at a house in Garikai, Beitbridge, where ZAR 15 000 and two cellphones were stolen from an airtime vendor.
“The arrest of Moyo subsequently led to the apprehension of his accomplices,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
The operation saw police recover a Girsan pistol loaded with 36 live rounds, a Honda Fit (AEO 9989), a Toyota Probox (AGT 7877), and airtime vouchers valued at USD 310.
Suspects are being investigated for at least nine armed robbery cases, including a 1 July 2025 raid at SDP New Stands where ZAR 4 000, USD 3 000 and two cellphones were stolen, and a 16 July 2025 shop break-in in the same area where ZAR 27 100, USD 130, cellphones and shoes were taken.
Meanwhile, on 13 August 2025, an airtime vendor at Dulibadzimu was attacked, losing USD 1 200, ZAR 2 000 and airtime vouchers valued at USD 2 500, while a separate robbery at New Stands saw ZAR 99 400, USD 1 550 and a cellphone stolen.
Commissioner Nyathi applauded the public for their assistance, urging continued vigilance.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police commends members of the public for providing positive information which led to these arrests.
