Eberechi Eze’s Hat-Trick Puts Arsenal Six Points Ahead of Spurs

Eberechi Eze scored his first senior hat-trick on Saturday as Arsenal defeated Tottenham Hotspur 4-1, extending their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points.

Tottenham’s manager, Thomas Frank, set up a five-man defense to tighten things up at the Emirates Stadium, but his team struggled against the strong Arsenal side.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring in the 36th minute, expertly finishing a pass from Mikel Merino. Eze, who nearly joined Tottenham during the summer transfer window before choosing Arsenal, doubled the host’s lead just before halftime. He skillfully dribbled past two defenders and fired a shot past Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario.

At halftime, Frank changed his tactics by removing one of his defenders and bringing in Xavi Simons to bolster the attack. But Arsenal quickly struck again, with Eze curling a left-footed shot into the bottom corner just 35 seconds into the second half.

Although Tottenham had moments in the match, Richarlison managed to score from about 40 yards, lifting the ball over Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. However, Eze sealed his hat-trick in the 76th minute with another well-placed shot past Vicario.

Arsenal now has a six-point lead over Chelsea, marking their largest advantage at this point in any Premier League season. The team is aiming for their first title since 2004 after finishing second in the league for the past three years. – BBC
