Dr Tawanda Recounts Car Accident, Assures Fans He Is Alive

Renowned musician Dr Tawanda Benson, best known for his hit song Fake Love, has spoken out following a car accident on March 6 in Manicaland Province that left him and his companions injured.

Dr Tawanda, addressing fans from his hospital bed, revealed the extent of his injuries. He suffered a broken arm, a deep wound on his head, and rib injuries. Two others who were travelling with him also sustained injuries, though the nature of their injuries was not disclosed.

He stated, “Ndakasangana ne tsaona on the 6th of March ndirikuno kuManicaland. I broke my arm and I have a deep cut on my head, on my ribs. I was with my two guys. We all survived but with some injuries.”

The musician also dismissed death rumours that had circulated on social media, reassuring fans that he is alive and grateful for another chance at life.

“A lot of rumours were circulating saying, ‘Dr Tawanda is dead’. No, I’m not. God provided another chance. Another life. So I’m alive, and I’m kicking. More shows. More music to come. Thank you for the well-wishes. I love you so much,” he said.

The video, in which Dr Tawanda shares these details, was posted by Manica Post on X, offering relief to worried supporters.

The artist further promised new music and performances once he recovers, emphasizing his gratitude to God and his fans.
