Double shame :Karoi father sentenced to 18 years, Chipinge teen gets 15 years for child rape.
KAROI – A horrific incident of child abuse has resulted in an 18-year prison sentence for a Karoi resident who raped his 14-year-old biological daughter multiple times.
The accused (42) whose identity remains undisclosed to safeguard the minor’s privacy was hauled before the Karoi Magistrates’ Court on rape charges.
According to court records, in August 2022, the accused invaded his daughter’s room while she slept alongside her young sister and forcibly took the minor to his bedroom where the abuse occurred.
The court was informed that the accused threatened the complainant, warning her to remain silent or face fatal consequences.
Allegations state that the accused engaged in sexual intercourse with the minor multiple times.
The incident was exposed after the complainant became pregnant. She disclosed the abuse to her mother who then filed a police report, resulting in the accused’s arrest.
The accused received a 20-year prison sentence, with 2 years suspended for 5 years, resulting in an effective sentence of 18 years.

Employed by the victim’s grandmother, he exploited his proximity to brutally assault the minor.
