DNA Ends 20-Year Mystery Over Ugandan Music Legend’s Children
A 20-year dispute over the children of legendary Ugandan Kadongo Kamu musician has finally been resolved after court-ordered DNA tests confirmed that only four of the 25 people who claimed to be his children are biologically related to him.
Kadongo Kamu, meaning “one little guitar,” is a traditional Ugandan music genre known for its storytelling and simple guitar melodies. Kafeero was one of the genre’s biggest stars and remains one of Uganda’s most respected musicians.
The four confirmed children are Thomas Kafeero Schwarzenegger, Simon Peter Kafeero, Benedicto Kafeero and Elizabeth Nagawa.
The results were announced after authorities exhumed Kafeero’s remains to collect DNA samples, bringing an end to the long-running family dispute.
