Diddy’s Mother Defends Him: “He’s Not the Monster They Portray”

Janice Small Combs, the mother of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, has publicly defended her son amid serious allegations.
She stated, “I am devastated and profoundly saddened” by the claims, which she insists are “lies.”
Last month, authorities arrested Diddy, known for hits like “I’ll Be Missing You,” on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He is currently in a Manhattan detention center after the court denied his bail.
In her statement, Small Combs acknowledged her son’s past mistakes but asserted that he is “not the monster they have painted him to be.”
“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” she said, emphasizing that the statement reflects the views of the Combs family.
This defense comes just days after reports surfaced that Diddy could face lawsuits from over 100 additional accusers alleging sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation.
His legal team has categorically denied the allegations, calling them “false and defamatory.” Diddy has faced several lawsuits since last year, including one from his former partner, Cassie Ventura, who accused him of rape and abuse. That case was settled out of court shortly after being filed.
In her statement, Small Combs referenced a video that surfaced showing Diddy physically assaulting Ventura in 2016, acknowledging that her son has not always been truthful about his past behavior.
Diddy is scheduled to appear in court on October 9, where his lawyers will seek bail. Prosecutors previously argued against bail, claiming he poses a “significant risk” to the trial, alleging he attempted to obstruct the investigation by contacting victims and witnesses.
