Dexter Nduna Apologizes for False Graduation Claim

Former Member of Parliament and military officer Dexter Nduna has publicly apologized after falsely claiming to have graduated from the University of Zimbabwe’s law program.

Although he attended the graduation ceremony in full regalia, he later learned he was not on the official list of graduates.

In a letter to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Nduna explained that he mistakenly believed his academic issues had been resolved.

University authorities had informed him that his requests for the remarking of two modules were being addressed, which led him to attend the ceremony.

“I was overjoyed, believing I had graduated. However, I later learned through social media that my case was still unresolved,” Nduna wrote, expressing regret for prematurely celebrating his supposed achievement.

He assured the public that he is taking steps to complete his outstanding modules and plans to sit for the necessary exams to obtain his law degree.

Nduna acknowledged that his excitement clouded his judgment and that he should have verified his status before attending.

The incident has ignited discussions on social media, with many calling for greater accountability and transparency in the education system.
