
The death toll from the tragic DNC Coaches bus accident along South Africa’s N1 highway near Louis Trichardt, Limpopo, has climbed to 44 after another victim succumbed to injuries in hospital.
Governments of Zimbabwe and Malawi have pledged to shoulder all repatriation and medical expenses for the deceased and the injured, following the horrific crash that involved a cross-border coach carrying citizens from both nations.

Zimbabwe’s diplomat, Shepherd Gwenzi, and Malawi’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Stella Ndau, confirmed the governments’ joint intervention during a meeting with Limpopo provincial officials and bereaved families at Siloam Hospital, where identification of bodies continues.
“The government of Zimbabwe will continue to assist the families of both the deceased and the injured with transport and accommodation until the conclusion of the ongoing processes,” Gwenzi said
He added that both governments are working with South African authorities to expedite the repatriation of the bodies.
