Cruel Man Jailed After Forcing Disabled Partner To Hold Waste For Five Days

ENGLAND – A man from Crewe has been sentenced to 20 months in prison after subjecting his disabled partner to five days of physical and emotional abuse, including denying her access to a toilet and threatening to kill her.

Jack Preston (29) pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court to controlling or coercive behaviour, criminal damage, theft, and assaulting a police officer.

The court heard that Preston hid toilet paper and ordered his bedridden girlfriend to “hold it in” for over 120 hours.

“She begged the defendant to help her, and he even took her toilet paper away at one point,” said prosecutor Sarah Badrawy.

When she was eventually allowed to relieve herself, her heart rate spiked, leaving her temporarily paralysed and unable to clean herself.

In desperation, the victim called 999 from her bed, describing Preston as someone whose “brain snaps very quickly.”

When police arrived at the couple’s home in Crewe, they found her crying and visibly distressed.

She told officers that Preston had threatened to kill her, smashed her phone, and threw bottles of her liquid food at her when she reminded him he hadn’t fed her.

According to Mirror.co.uk, the abuse also included pouring concealer over a whiteboard, damaging a photograph of the couple, and destroying a stuffed toy.

The victim, who became immobile in January 2025 due to medical complications, said Preston had twice expressed a desire to carry out a “mercy killing” followed by suicide.

“He told her he considered her ‘dead’ and expressed desires to commit a ‘mercy kill plus suicide,’” Badrawy told the court.

She further revealed that Preston had sent over 400 messages in a single day, contributing to the victim’s emotional distress.

“She said she relives this experience whenever she needs a bowel movement,” Badrawy added.

Following his arrest, Preston became aggressive and bit a police officer.

After being released on bail, he was detained again for damaging a fire extinguisher and triggering a hotel sprinkler system after being denied service at the bar.

His solicitor, Peter Barnett, said Preston’s mental health had deteriorated due to excessive cannabis use.

“He did not realise it was deteriorating to the extent it did and he effectively had a meltdown.

“Rarely have I seen anybody in such a poor state of mind,” Barnett said.

Judge Simon Berkson condemned Preston’s actions, stating:

“She required love and attention rather than the disgraceful and cruel way in which you treated her over that period.

“Your behaviour was despicable and disgraceful and was intended to humiliate and degrade the victim in some very unusual and upsetting ways.”

The case has drawn attention to the dangers of coercive control and the vulnerability of disabled individuals in abusive relationships.

Authorities continue to urge victims of domestic abuse to seek help and report incidents promptly.
