Convicted Tapiwa Makore’s Murd£rer Proposes “Prisoners For ED” Movement – Convicted murderer Tapiwa Makore Senior, who is serving a life sentence for the brutal 2020 murder of his seven-year-old nephew, has stirred national outrage after proposing the formation of a “Prisoners For ED” group to support President Mnangagwa.
Speaking from Chikurubi Maximum Prison during a visit by Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary Vimbai Nyemba on 29 October 2025, Makore Senior said,
“I am calling for the introduction of a ‘Prisoners for ED’ programme in prisons.”
His comments were published by The Herald Zimbabwe, triggering a storm of anger across social media.

Many Zimbabweans condemned the move as insensitive to the Makore family, given the horrific nature of his crime.
One user, Arnold Bimha, posted on X:
“Why give this man airtime after he murdered a child? This is rubbish.”
