Church Treasurer Found Hanging from Tree After Struggling with Debt
He had taken out a loan, and the pressure from lenders was intense.

The Highfield community is in mourning after the body of 32-year-old Taurai Mukotsanjera, treasurer and youth coordinator of the local Presbyterian Church, was found hanging from a tree.
Residents discovered Mukotsanjera’s body on Monday, and it has since been taken to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
In a suicide note, Mukotsanjera expressed his struggles with significant financial debt, stating he owed US$600.
This burden became overwhelming for him, especially after he lost his primary source of income.
Mukotsanjera’s vehicle, which he used to transport children to school, had fallen into disrepair.
Mukotsanjera’s mother, Petronella, aged 74, expressed her sorrow, saying, “Taurai has caused me pain. I do not believe that it was just the debt that troubled him. If he had shared his problems, I would have done anything to help him.”
Neighbours mentioned that he had taken out a loan, and the pressure from lenders was intense.
Friends reported that Mukotsanjera was last seen at a local bar, where he purchased a beer for a neighbour. He leaves behind a wife and a seven-year-old daughter. – Herald
