Chivi Hospital Accused of Negligence After Patient Suffers Severe Blood Loss
CHIVI – A family in Chivi demanded accountability yesterday after their relative suffered severe blood loss due to alleged medical negligence at Chivi District Hospital.
The patient was admitted in the evening, but medical staff stated that treatment would only resume the following morning.
Crime Watch Zimbabwe (@crimewatchzw) shared a post originally posted by an anonymous relative detailing the incident.
The next morning, the family was handed a list of necessary medical supplies. However, when a family member returned for it, they were met with dismissive remarks from a senior nurse.
Later in the evening, relatives were horrified to find a pool of blood beneath the bed. Despite repeated calls for help, staff claimed they were occupied, leaving the family to handle the situation themselves.
The case has sparked outrage, with calls for improved medical response protocols and greater accountability within the healthcare system.
Many are urging authorities to take action and ensure hospitals uphold proper standards of care.
