Chivhayo Gifts Mutendi Family with Brand New 2025 Land Rovers
Business mogul Wicknell Chivhayo has once again made headlines with his philanthropic gestures, this time gifting the spiritual leader of the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi and his wife Amai Mutendi, with brand new 2025 luxury vehicles worth nearly US$600,000.
Chivhayo, a well-known businessman with a history of high-profile donations, took to his Facebook page to announce the gift, emphasizing his appreciation for the charitable work undertaken by the ZCC.
He presented a 2025 Range Rover Autobiography SV valued at US$400,000 to Bishop Mutendi and a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series worth US$190,000 to Amai Mutendi.
“Tiripa Join ye ZION … nothing is more fulfilling in this life than witnessing compassion being expressed towards the less privileged and vulnerable members of our communities,” Chivhayo wrote in his social media post.
He praised the ZCC’s efforts in assisting marginalized communities, funding education for orphans, and supporting hospitals and schools—adding that his US$1 million donation to the church in April 2024 had been utilized effectively, citing audited financial statements provided by the ZCC.
Chivhayo, who has previously faced scrutiny over his business dealings and close political ties, described his visit to the ZCC headquarters in Mbungo and Defe as a spiritually fulfilling experience.
He commended Bishop Mutendi’s leadership, stating that the church’s extensive community work aligns with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision of national development.
“In recognition of your extraordinary work, His Grace, Bishop Mutendi, and the pivotal role Amai Mutendi plays, yesterday I had the greatest pleasure of personally choosing a gift most befitting as my small token of appreciation,” he stated.
While Chivhayo’s latest donation has been met with praise from ZCC members and supporters, it has also sparked debate over his motivations and the broader implications of his philanthropy.
However, critics argue that his high-profile donations serve to bolster his public image and political connections, while supporters view his contributions as genuine acts of generosity aimed at uplifting communities.
Neither Bishop Mutendi nor the ZCC has publicly commented on the donation but Chivhayo expressed hope that the church leader would accept the vehicles as a gesture of acknowledgment for the “remarkable work of God” being carried out through the ZCC.
