Chivayo Laughs Off Rumors He Fled Zimbabwe, Gave Kids Kenyan Names

Chivayo Laughs Off Rumors He Fled Zimbabwe, Gave Kids Kenyan Names – Under fire from social media and corruption allegations, controversial Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has responded with sarcasm and laughter to claims that he secretly acquired fake Kenyan passports for himself and his family.
The report, published by ZimEye, alleged that Chivayo was plotting to flee to Kenya amid growing calls for his arrest led by activist Tatenda Jera, who accuses him of looting state resources—especially regarding the long-stalled US$15 million Gwanda Solar Power project.
According to the same article, Chivayo has already given his children Kenyan names to help blend into the East African country. His son, the report claimed, is now called Jubilant Pkalya Longurasia, and his daughter Victoria Chepoghisio Longurasia.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, April 21, Chivayo dismissed the claims with mockery.
“Very stupid😂🤣, you’re out of lies to report,” he wrote.

“ZimEye should consider switching to fiction writing. This is comedy, not journalism.”
Another, @NyashaRealTalk:
“Say what you want, but we still need answers about that solar project. Kenya or no Kenya.”

“Dragging his kids into this is a low blow. Say what you want about the man, but leave the family alone.”

“Him changing his kids’ names to blend into Kenya? That’s creative fiction. I’m rating this 9/10 for imagination.”
Meanwhile, the Children of Zimbabwe War Veterans Association (COZWVA) released a brief statement condemning the dragging of innocent children into political drama:
“We may disagree with Sir Wicknell’s dealings, but his children must not be used as bait in media wars. Leave the little ones out of it.”
