Residents and mourners visiting the home of the late Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria in Unit A Extension can now travel on a fully repaired road, following urgent works by the Chitungwiza Municipality.
Engineer Talent Mashinga told reporters that the municipality prioritized the road after learning of the iconic musician’s passing.
The repair work included grading, gravelling, and adding a shoulder to improve accessibility.

“We had already planned to repair the road, but upon hearing of Madzibaba Nicholas Zakaria’s death, we fast-tracked this project to ensure mourners can reach the home without difficulty,” Mashinga said.
He added that municipal teams were redirected to expedite the work, which was completed ahead of schedule.
“We wanted to provide a safe and convenient passage for all visiting the bereaved family,” he said.
