Chipaz Backs JP, Winky D Collaboration Ahead of NYE Mega Show

ACE promoter Patson “Chipaz” Chimbodza says the long-awaited collaboration between Jah Prayzah and Winky D proves that unity, not rivalry, is what drives the music industry forward.

He believes the New Year’s Eve showdown is more than just a concert, it is a statement about the power of working together at the top level.

Chipaz, who has managed to bring the two giants onto one stage for the first time in years, said his strong relationships with both artists made the historic booking possible.

“For me, I have a mutual understanding with all artists,” he said.

Music, he added, is a blend of creativity and partnership.

“Music is art, art is business, and business is about synergies. After we held the Jah Prayzah album launch, we did the Tete-A-Tete gig with Winky D and we noticed that remarkable growth can only come with a combined effort.

“As such, we decided to enter 2026 in style by holding a joint show involving the two artists.

“History will certainly be made at the event and we urge fans to show up in numbers and support their own.”

H-Metro reports that Chipaz, now marking 21 years as a registered arts promoter, insists Zimbabwe needs more collaborations of this magnitude.

“There is power in collaborations and we have been yearning for this in Zimbabwe over the years,” he said.

The show comes at a time when Jah Prayzah has been filling venues to capacity, recently making history by packing Ellis Park Arena in South Africa before attracting another bumper crowd at the Harare International Conference Centre.

Winky D, who continues to command massive national support, has also been attracting huge audiences and recently bagged the People’s Choice Award at the National Arts Merit Awards.

Both artists rose from humble beginnings to dominate the music scene, and now Chipaz believes bringing them together will push the industry to new heights.

The only question left and one fans are already debating is who will perform first?
