A 27-year-old woman from Chegutu has been found guilty by the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court of mistreating her 13-year-old stepson.
The conviction stems from an incident on April 10, 2025, when she assaulted the boy after accusing him of not folding his blankets at their home in the Industrial Area.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, during the assault, the woman reportedly struck the child multiple times on the head with both open hands and fists, in addition to biting him on the back, resulting in visible injuries.
