Celebrity Marriage in Crisis: Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko Trade Explosive Claims

Nigerian Senator Ned Nwoko has denied allegations of domestic violence made by his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, following a viral video that surfaced on Saturday, October 18.

The incident, which reportedly occurred at their Abuja residence, has drawn widespread public attention.

Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the Nigerian Senate, claims the couple’s marital crisis is rooted in Daniels’ alleged addiction to drugs and alcohol.

In the video shared by Regina’s brother, Sammy West, the actress appears visibly distressed and accuses her husband of sending individuals to attack her.

“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen.

“Not again. I cannot tolerate the violence anymore, it is too much,” she said, as people around her tried to console her.

The footage has since gone viral, sparking debate over the dynamics of their six-year marriage.

Responding to the claims, Nwoko released a statement via his verified social media account, denying any form of abuse.

He alleged that Regina had become physically aggressive, assaulted three staff members, and damaged property including vehicles and windows.

“Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting three staff members in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, without any justification,” he stated.

The senator further claimed that Regina’s behavior is linked to substance abuse and insisted she must continue her rehabilitation.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drug and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem.

“She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety,” he wrote.

He added that she had relocated to a place where she allegedly has unrestricted access to drugs.

According to BBC, Nwoko provided video evidence showing cracked windows, broken furniture, and a damaged car to support his claims.

He also emphasized that none of his other wives have ever accused him of violence.

“I have other wives, and none of them has ever accused me of violence,” he said, suggesting Regina’s case is isolated and driven by addiction.

Regina Daniels, 25, is one of Nollywood’s most recognized actresses, having started her career at age seven.

She has featured in over 100 Nigerian films including Miracle Child, Python Girl, and Queen Rebecca.

She holds a degree in Mass Communication and currently serves as the social secretary of the Senators’ Wives Association.

Her siblings have publicly supported her throughout her career and personal life.

Ned Nwoko, a UK-trained lawyer and philanthropist, studied law at the University of Keele and King’s College London.

He was called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn and practiced law in the UK, where he was named Best Black Lawyer of African Descent in 1995.

He returned to Nigeria in 1998 and entered politics, serving in the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003.

He currently serves as senator for Delta North.

As the controversy continues to unfold, both parties remain firm in their positions.

The public is closely watching for further developments in what has become one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity-political dramas.
