Burglar Jailed 24 Months for Double Break-Ins
A 40-year-old Chinhoyi man, Never Soza, is behind bars after being convicted of unlawful entry with aggravated circumstances and theft. Soza appeared before the Gweru Magistrates’ Court for a string of burglaries that left residents shaken.
According to the State, Soza’s crime spree began on June 28, 2024, when he broke into a home in Chinhoyi and made off with batteries, blankets, clothes, and shoes. But his criminal exploits didn’t end there.
On August 6, 2024, Soza, along with his accomplice James Dzepasi Maravanyika—who is currently on remand—targeted Alvin Kakoto’s home. The duo stole a laptop, an external hard drive, and a cell phone, with the stolen goods valued at USD1,600. Soza was arrested on September 2, 2024, and his day of reckoning came swiftly. The court sentenced him to 24 months in prison for the double break-ins, bringing a measure of relief to his victims.
