The man, popularly known in the area as “Usiphatheleni”, allegedly told residents that the monkey had been used as part of juju practices that helped him make money through illicit means.

According to witnesses, the money changer said he could no longer cope with the animal’s alleged demands and disturbances, prompting him to give it up. The unusual incident quickly attracted attention in the suburb, with many residents gathering to witness the surrender.
