BREAKING: Blessed Mhlanga Denied Bail

High Court Judge Justice Gibson Mandaza has refused to grant bail to Blessed Mhlanga, a senior journalist at Heart and Soul (HStv). Mhlanga had appealed against a lower court’s decision to deny him bail.

As reported by NewsDay, Justice Mandaza agreed with the lower court’s decision, saying they made the right call in denying bail. Mhlanga is in prison for allegedly inciting violence following broadcasts by Heart & Soul TV (HStv) of several press conferences held by the outspoken war veteran Blessed “Bombshell” Geza.

Mhlanga has been in prison since February 25. The High Court carefully reviewed the case and didn’t find any mistakes made by the lower court. As a result, Mhlanga’s appeal was dismissed.

“After a careful assessment and examination I did not find any misdirection’s, the appeal cannot succeed, and the decision is that the appeal by appellant against the decision of the magistrate court be dismissed in its entirety,” said Mandaza.
