Ayra Starr: “I Have Never Been In Love”

Nigerian singer-songwriter Ayra Starr has disclosed that she has never experienced love. In a recent interview with *Dazed Magazine*, the “Woman Commando” artist expressed her desire to feel it for the first time.

Despite being labeled a “lover girl,” Ayra, who graced the cover of the latest issue of the British magazine, admitted that she has never been in a serious relationship.

“I want to fall in love. I wrote ‘Lagos Love Story’ to imagine what love would be like for me. Deep down, I’m a lover girl, but I can be quite strong-willed about it. I have never been in love. I’ve been in certain situations—not situationships!—but never in a fully committed relationship,” she said.

Ayra explained that while she has made efforts to explore her romantic options, her busy schedule has made it challenging.

“I’ve been working since I was 15, modeling, attending university, and now I’m constantly on the road,” she shared.

She added, “Right now, I’m just enjoying myself as a girl. I think, let me sing to a cute boy today and see what happens—why not?”
