Travelers between Harare, Bulawayo, and Hwange are being urged to stay clear of Zambezi Tours, a bus company accused of misleading passengers with false online bookings and non-existent pickup points.
This comes amid a spate of complaints from passengers who booked tickets online, only to be left at empty pickup points or facing last-minute cancellations without refunds.
Speaking to AfroGazette News, Tafadzwa Goliati, national coordinator of the Passengers Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ), said Zambezi Tours has “no fixed office or pickup points, despite claiming to operate from popular locations like Innez Terrace and Speke Avenue.”
“Many people have fallen victim to their schemes, only to find themselves stranded or out of pocket,” Goliati said.

He urged travelers to remain cautious, saying:
“Using informal or unverified transport services carries significant risks. Passengers can lose money and even put their personal safety at risk. Vigilance is crucial in preventing syndicates from exploiting unsuspecting commuters.”
“As the Passengers Association, we strongly encourage travelers to use well-known and reputable passenger service vehicles.
“Anyone who encounters problems should immediately report the matter to the ZRP Charge Office in Harare or their nearest police station.”
