Apostle Eunor Guti Reportedly Declines Wicknell Chivayo’s Lavish Birthday Gift

Apostle Eunor Guti Reportedly Declines Wicknell Chivayo’s Lavish Birthday Gift – Apostle Eunor Guti, widow of the late Archbishop Ezekiel Guti, has reportedly declined a grand gesture from controversial businessman Sir Wicknell Chivayo, which included a brand-new 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series VXR and a cash sum of US$250,000.
According to Crime Watch Zim on X (formerly Twitter), the respected church matriarch turned down the extravagant offer, which had sparked widespread attention when first announced on 5 May by Chivayo in a sentimental Facebook post.
In it, Chivayo paid tribute to the founder of ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries, calling him “a SPIRITUAL ROCK” and “one of the GREATEST GIFTS that Zimbabwe has ever had.”
In his birthday tribute marking what would have been Archbishop Guti’s 101st birthday, Chivayo lauded the late cleric’s humble beginnings preaching under a eucalyptus tree in the 1960s and his eventual rise to lead a global ministry.
He also pledged the vehicle and cash to Apostle Guti “subject to the church’s Governing Board’s consent.”

“Please accept USD250,000 in CASH for fuel and your personal use,” Chivayo wrote, alongside instructions for the luxury SUV’s delivery.
However, despite the public fanfare, Crime Watch Zim reports that Apostle Guti has respectfully declined both the vehicle and the money.
Chivayo has recently made headlines for gifting high-end cars and cash to several prominent religious leaders, including Pastor Ian Ndlovu, Madzibaba Israel, and Madzibaba Lawrence Katsiru.
He has described the gifts as a tribute to the recipients’ spiritual leadership and service to the nation.
While Chivayo’s gesture was framed as a token of deep respect and admiration, Apostle Guti’s reported decision to decline the offer has drawn praise from those who view it as a reaffirmation of humility and spiritual focus in leadership.
