Anambra Community Bids Farewell to 3 Siblings Brutally Murdered and Found in Freezer

NIGERIA – The Ejezie family laid to rest three of their children – Chikaima (9), Chimziterem (8) and Chimdirim (5) – on Saturday, in their family compound in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, after they were brutally murdered by an unknown attacker on February 1.

The siblings were at home when their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, left for an examination and upon returning, she found the house door open, which was unusual.

After an unsuccessful search, the mother and others opened the freezer, where they discovered the children’s bodies.

Mourners converged at the Ejezie family compound to bid farewell to the three siblings.

A requiem mass was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, where Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke, Archbishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, delivered a poignant homily. In his homily, Cardinal Okpalaeke reflected on the tragedy, drawing from the biblical narrative of Cain and Abel.

He observed that violence has been an inherent part of human history and poignantly described the young victims as martyrs, whose lives were tragically cut short.

The Anambra State Police Command has launched an investigation into the killings, but no arrests have been made yet.
