A Forbidden Love Ends in Tragedy as Father and Daughter Take Their Own Lives
GUTU – The Masvingise community in Gutu South is in shock following a disturbing incident where a father and daughter, alleged to have been in an incestuous relationship, were found hanging from trees in the same mountainous region.
The deceased, identified as Madanhike and his daughter, reportedly took their own lives only a few meters apart.
Villagers who discovered the bodies say the two had been involved in a relationship that violated cultural and social norms, leading to overwhelming shame and despair.
According to reports from Midweek Watch, police responded to the scene and transported the bodies to Gutu Mission Hospital for postmortem examinations on the morning of April 23.
Masvingo Province Deputy Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu, confirmed that investigations are underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
