The adventure kicked off when Bedford police received a report of a missing child, followed by another call about a “small child” spotted driving erratically on Rockside Road, according to local station WJW.
Dash-cam footage captured from another driver shows a concerned man calling the police, reporting that the car behind him was “swerving everywhere.” As the vehicle came into view, the man exclaimed to dispatch, “It looks like a kid!”
Police quickly launched a search for the mini driver and eventually tracked her down at the Target store—20 minutes away from home, after weaving through heavy traffic.
The girl was found safe inside the store, and her family was contacted to pick her up. While no injuries occurred during the wild ride, the girl did admit to police that she “hit a mailbox” on the way.
