50 Boko Haram Fighters Killed
In a brutal ambush on Tuesday, Boko Haram militants attacked a convoy safeguarding Nigeria’s power grid, leaving 50 insurgents dead and seven members of the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps missing. Around 200 fighters overwhelmed the patrol in Niger State, injuring several operatives. Authorities are actively searching for the missing agents.
Though weakened by military campaigns and infighting, Boko Haram continues to pose a deadly threat, extending attacks beyond its northeastern stronghold. The group has known cells in Niger State and remains a key security challenge.
