48-Years Later: Woman Receives Job Application Response!
In an unexpected twist, 70-year-old Tizi Hodson from Lincolnshire, UK, has finally received a response to a job application she submitted nearly five decades ago.
In 1976, Hodson applied for a position as a motorcycle stunt rider, a dream role she was passionate about. After waiting so long for a response, she assumed the company had rejected her application.
Nearly 48 years later, she discovered that her letter had remained stuck behind a drawer at the Staines Post Office all along.
During renovation work at the post office, staff unearthed the long-forgotten letter and returned it to Hodson with a note stating, “Late delivery by Staines Post Office.” Found behind a drawer. Only about 50 years late.”
This unexpected reply provided closure to a mystery that had lingered for decades. Although Hodson had long since moved on from her stunt-riding ambitions, she found the news amusing.
“I always wondered why I never heard back about the job. Now I know why,” she shared, reflecting on her diverse life journey.
Despite not pursuing her dream, Hodson led an adventurous life, working as a snake handler, horse whisperer, aerobatic pilot, and flying instructor, traveling the globe and creating the exciting life she desired.
Looking back, she offered advice to her younger self: “If I could speak to my younger self, I would tell her to go and do everything I’ve done. I’ve had such a wonderful time in life, even if I have broken a few bones.”
The story of Hodson’s delayed letter is remarkable, especially considering she has moved over 50 times and lived in various countries.
“How they found me after all this time is a mystery,” she said, amazed. The late response serves as a testament to her adventurous spirit and determination.
