40-Year-Old Ugandan Woman Miraculously Delivers Six Babies

40-Year-Old Ugandan Woman Miraculously Delivers Six Babies – A 40-year-old Glorious Betonde has given birth to sextuplets—five boys and one girl—bringing joy and amazement across Uganda.
The babies were delivered via cesarean section at Neo Care Fertility Centre in Mbarara City, just seven months into Betonde’s pregnancy.
The rare birth, which took place on Good Friday, has since captured nationwide attention.
Speaking to local media, Betonde described the arrival of her six children as nothing short of a miracle.
Overwhelmed with emotion, she expressed deep gratitude for the safe delivery during what was only her second pregnancy.
Following the birth, the newborns were immediately transferred to the intensive care unit at Holy Innocents Children’s Hospital in Nyamitanga.
There, a dedicated team of medical professionals is providing round-the-clock care, as the babies face common preterm challenges such as breathing and feeding difficulties.
Dr. Mike Kyewalyanga, a paediatrician at the hospital, noted that although the babies require intensive support, the medical team remains confident in managing their care based on previous experiences with similar cases.
The proud father, Vincent Tumwesigye, also shared his joy, calling the birth an incredible blessing for their family.
“I am thrilled and grateful for this gift of six beautiful children,” he said.
The remarkable birth has drawn congratulatory messages from local leaders and the wider community.
Moses Bansigaraho Bishweko, the LC3 Chairperson for Central Division, praised the family, describing the event as a moment of communal pride and celebration.
Medical experts emphasize that the successful delivery and current survival of all six babies is a rare medical achievement, given the high risks typically associated with multiple births of this magnitude.
