28-year-old-man-dies-in-horrific-scotch-cart-mishap

PLUMTREE – A 28-year-old man from Tshemahali village, Madlambuzi, Plumtree has died after a donkey-drawn scotch cart overturned upon hitting a tree trunk.

The accident occurred around 9 a.m on Monday on an unnamed dust road, leaving the community in shock.

Matabeleland South police spokesperson Inspector Chiratidzo Dube confirmed the deceased as Luckson Ndlovu, who had set out to collect firewood with his wife, Caren Dube (22), when the scotch cart lost control and overturned, trapping him beneath it.

Nearby villagers rushed to assist and transported him to Ntoli Hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival due to severe injuries.

According to SouthernEye, Ndlovu’s body has been taken to Plumtree District Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution when using traditional transport methods, emphasising the importance of road safety to prevent similar tragedies.
