2 Foreign Nationals Arrested in Connection with String of Robberies

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of two foreign nationals, Aruna Saidu and Foday Kamry, in connection with a series of robbery cases in Harare and surrounding areas.

This development marks a major milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb the rising tide of criminal activity in the region.

Over the past few months, the country has witnessed a surge in criminal cases, with many incidents going unreported.

However, the ZRP has been working tirelessly to track down perpetrators and bring them to justice. The recent arrest of Saidu and Kamry is a testament to the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order.

According to Commissioner Paul Nyathi, ZRP spokesperson, “The arrest of these two foreign nationals is a significant achievement, and we commend the public for providing valuable information that led to their capture.”

Nyathi added, “We urge the public to continue cooperating with the police to ensure that justice is served.”

On March 9, 2025, CID Homicide, Harare, and Police Special Tactics Troop, Chikurubi, acted on a tip and tracked down the suspects, who were reported to be in Karoi. The officers intercepted the suspects near Spar Karoi, leading to a high-speed chase and a shootout with the police.

The police disarmed the suspects and recovered a white Mercedes Benz, firearms, and other incriminating items.

The ZRP has assured the public that they will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those responsible for criminal activities are brought to justice.

As Commissioner Nyathi emphasized, “We are committed to maintaining law and order, and we will not tolerate any form of criminal activity in our society.”
