17-Year-Old Arrested for Allegedly Killing Mother Over Missing Memory Card

GHANA – A 17-year-old junior high school student, Emmanuel Gyan, has been taken into custody in Ghana for allegedly killing his mother, Faustina Agyeiwaa(52).

The incident occurred in Wassa J.Y No.1, Sefwi Wiawso District.

According to MyNewsGH, Gyan accused his mother of taking his mobile phone memory card, which she denied.

Gyan allegedly struck his mother multiple times on the head with a pestle, resulting in her death.

The suspect was apprehended by his father, Isaac Somuah (58) and Stephen Amponsah, a neighbour, who restrained him from escaping before contacting the police.

Agyeiwaa’s body has been sent to the Bibiani Government Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
